Lineair DNG means no corrections to the demosaiced image has been done. The 16 bit DNG/TIFF takes 2 byte per channel. For simplicity the sensor has the same elements. RAW files do contain R,G,B values: 1 channel per pixel. They both contain RGB values: 3 channels per pixel.
